Vitality Joel Price Aberdeen Chamber Faulkton community award

Dr. Joel Price was recognized as the 2014 ViTality Award recipient by the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce at their annual Community Champions Awards Luncheon on February 10, 2015. 

 

The ViTality Awad is bestowed annually to recognize an individual who displays enthusiasm for regional development in the 17-county area of North Eastern and North Central South Dakota. The namesake for the award. “ViTality” is Vi Stoia. Stoia was a regional thinker for his entire career. He passed away in 2008, but his legacy lives on I the form of the ViTality Award.  The Award is a replica of a sculpture of Stoia that sits at the corner of Main Street and 3rd Avenue in Aberdeen. Past winners include Rodney Fouberg of Aberdeen and Former Governor Frank Farrar of Britton, SD.

 

Dr. Price was re recognized for his professional and personal accomplishments and his dedication to the community of Faulkton and the region. He is active with the Faulkton Area Economic Development Corporation, and has served as the Dakota Rising coordinator for his community as well as with the South Dakota Coalition of Schools Board Members.   He has served as the Woonsocket School District Principal and Athletic Director and served as a teacher and coach at Sturgis High School. He is currently the Superintendent and Elementary School principal at the Faulkton Area School District.
