A family business tradition

2 Oct 2017

Eugene Hanson and Vernon Lehman started a business with one Case backhoe in September of 1958. Lehman sold his share to Roger Hanson, Eugene’s brother, shortly after that. With this initial spark, the Hanson brothers built a successful family trucking and excavation operation.

In the 1980’s Eugene became sole owner of the company that is now known as Hanson’s, Inc. For three generations and nearly six decades, the company has been serving the Faulkton area, installing water and sewer lines and septic systems as well as digging basements and serving other excavation needs of the community. The trucking side of the business not only transports gravel and rock but also moves small grains, feed and road salt to businesses in and out of the state.

Children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have grown up immersed in this entrepreneurial spirit. The company is run by Eugene with help from his son Brad Hanson and  daughter Dawn Redden as well as grandson Todd Hanson and granddaughter Kayla Roseland. Along with family and long-time employees, Hanson’s, Inc. is succeeding in an ever-changing world and carrying the Hanson family legacy into the future.
