Tourism

One doesn’t associate the word “tourism” with Faulkton, SD, a small town of 736 in northeastern South Dakota, but you might think differently when you visit.

More and more people are opting to “get off the beaten track” and explore the highways and byways of all of the United States these days. The interstate may be the fastest way to get down the road, but when you take the off ramp and start visiting the small towns in South Dakota you find many undiscovered gems.

Faulkton, SD, known as the “Carousel City” and a “little town with a lot of art” is a prime example. Faulkton, the county seat of Faulk County, is a strong and vibrant community and whether you take the time to “ride a painted pony,” take a walk through history at the Pickler Mansion or appreciate the many murals that have been added over the years, you will discover that it definitely is worth your time.
