Modern day society is an ever changing lifestyle. In modern society we live for longer, work harder. We often eat poorly even with plenty of nutritional information and nutritional values available and work more sedentary jobs. Life has become more demanding and we often forget the basics of good health such as making time to relax and enjoy ourselves.
Historically, our main threat to health was infectious diseases such as polio, tetanus and tuberculosis. As diet and lifestyle has progressed up to the present day the frequency of these diseases has declined.
The interesting question now posed is, with the significant decrease of infectious diseases, why the ever increasing numbers of conditions such as autoimmune disease, irritable bowel syndrome, food allergies and intolerances?
