Faulkton to host Australian artist in July
July 17, 2017
Public art in the form of a mural is a powerful tool. In addition to beautifying a neighborhood, it can help engage the community and establish a sense of place.
Faulkton will have the distinct pleasure of hosting acclaimed Australian artist Guido van Helten as our Artist in Residence in July. Known for his large-scale, site-specific murals, van Helten will begin by meeting with community members and exploring the county, to gain inspiration and insight into the area.
While here, the artist will create a massive mural on the Farmers Elevator on the east side of town. Both public and private funds were raised for this extraordinary project. It has broad community support and is expected to attract tourists from throughout the region.
