Guido Van Helten elev. painting update
October 17, 2017
By Dave Hedt
Thanks everyone for your patience. I know a lot of people have been asking the status of this project.
Here is what has happened to date:
- Guido is 100% committed to painting the elevator (three sides). It’s a special place and he wants to take the time to explore the badlands and Black Hills after painting.
- He has been waiting on his Visa to be approved which has taken way longer than we hoped.
- His last step is to now sit in an interview at the U.S. consulate in London which is scheduled next week.
- Our concern was the cold weather is approaching fast and may hinder the ability to paint.
- We have decided to push the project back to the spring so it won’t be rushed.
Gudio quoted me the following:
“I will also prepare a document with the photos from my July trip. I took so many and I can show the people who are donating and the grant people I am 100% committed.
Thanks everyone for their support and donations so far. It is going to be amazing once completed.
Again I am sorry we have had to delay but you can’t rush the government or paperwork.”
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact Dave or Katie in the office Unit #7 at the retail center 605-598- 6688.
Check Walkabout Retail Center Facebook page for a video of Guido’s brilliance. Cheers, and here’s to building a better community for all.
