About
Lena Huss
Department: Board
Lena grew up in Orlando, Florida, and earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of
Central Florida in 1996. She and her husband, John Huss, have one adult daughter. Lena
enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the financial services industry, spending her final
decade as a Senior Associate Wealth Advisor with Charles Schwab & Co. before retiring in 2021.
In 2023, after nearly 50 years in the Metro Orlando area, Lena and John relocated to Faulkton,
purchasing John’s grandparents’ home on the south side of town. Since their arrival, they have
been actively restoring the 1905 Victorian house, with Lena personally handling much of the
woodwork to ensure the historical character and details are preserved.
In addition to restoring their historic home, Lena has been instrumental in completing
improvements to the local movie theater. Built in 1950 by John’s grandfather and great-uncle,
the theater has been a cherished gathering place for more than 75 years. As co-owners, Lena
and John are passionate about honoring its legacy and ensuring it remains open and available
to the community.
Lena recently joined the Faulkton Area Economic Development Board, bringing a fresh
perspective shaped by her experiences living and working in a large metropolitan city. She is
committed to fostering growth and progress in Faulkton while preserving the small-town charm
and character that drew her to the area. Lena hopes to guide initiatives that support local
businesses, strengthen community connections, and ensure the town continues to thrive for
future generations.
