Faulkton Area Foundation is hoping to raise $200,000
May 13, 2015
The Faulkton Area Foundation would like to extend an invitation for you to become part of an endowment to invest in the community. According to foundation board President Troy Hadrick, the board would like to hear from individuals, families and businesses willing to invest in the future of the community in a tax deductible way. The local foundation board has set an initial goal of raising $200,000 over the next five years. When this goal is reached, the S.D. Foundation will donate a $50,000 match. In addition a few businesses have stepped up and are willing to pitch in another $50,000 match. With that commitment every dollar you donate essentially turns into $1.50 for the foundation.
The Faulkton Area Foundation was created late last year with the goal of providing financial support to charitable and non-profit purposes in the Faulkton area. This permanent endowment allows residents and businesses to invest in the future of the community in a tax deductible way. Another way to give would be trust funds, wills and memorials. The money raised is managed by the South Dakota Community Foundation.
A community foundation is tax exempt. Only the interest is spent, never the principal. It is a way for individuals to share wealth. All gifts are tax deductible. It is a vehicle for giving, making it possible for everyone in the community to participate. Donations generate revenue for worthwhile projects for generations to come.
Serving with Hadrick on the Faulkton Area Foundation board are Randy Tisher, Lisa Mueller, Dwight Hossle, Kevin Deiter, Lori Holt and Dale Melius. You are welcome to contact any member to answer questions, receive a pledge agreement or to visit about ways you can impact the foundation. Pledge sheets are available at Dacotah Bank, Mueller Therapeutic Massage and Quilter’s Corner.
