Notable Community and Business Happenings for March 27

March 24, 2017

The community is invited to a Faulkton Area School District School Board candidate forum on Monday, March 27 at 5pm in the Faulkton School gymnasium.

The Faulkton FEA is hosting and Mayor Slade Roseland is moderating. It’s an opportunity for voters to learn more about the candidates: Gloria Bode, Todd Brand, BJ Kalkman and Ryan Nelson.

Each candidate will give a brief introduction and then the moderator will ask them a predetermined set of questions about a broad range of pertinent issues such as budget/finance, policy, curriculum, extracurricular opportunities, technology, buildings/grounds and the future of the district.

Also happening on Monday is a “Let’s Put Our Cities on the Map” free workshop for area businesses about developing and growing their online presence. This is valuable information, since 97% of consumers look online for local products and services.

The event is part of Google’s Get Your Business Online program. Business owners will learn with Google experts through video presentations. Kelly Weaver with the Small Business Development Center will help with questions and creating an online profile.

The workshop starts at 6pm at Dot T’s in Faulkton. Supper will be provided. Register by contacting Trevor Cramer at 605-598-3050. Visit www.gybo.com to find out more about the program.
