Cultivating art in the community

November 13, 2017

Since 1975, the Faulkton Arts Council has been dedicated to bringing top-notch arts events and opportunities to area residents.

Spring was filled with a number of artful events. The council held its 27th annual Hats Off to the Artists Art Show and its biennial Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre. Both were wonderfully successful and well attended.

In April, children in grades 1-6 had the chance to work with the Dakota Players as part of an arts residency. After a week of collaborative work, the community was treated to a full-scale, musical production of The Superhero Show.

During Wild West Days and the All School Reunion this summer, the Faulkton Community Theatre presented a variety show at the Legion Hall. Faulkton is fortunate to have dedicated volunteers working to promote art in our community. Find out more about upcoming arts events by contacting: Faulkton Arts Council President Jody Moritz: 605-598-6203 or Project Co-Chair Linda Bartholomew: 605-598-4312.
