
Dr. Ken Bartholomew featured speaker at annual Development Board Meeting

The annual meeting of the Faulkton Area Economic Development Corporation will be held this Saturday, December 2nd at the Faulkton Community Center starting at 6:00 p. m. A free meal will be catered and served by Cheryl’s Catering of Polo and the public is invited. Dr. Kenneth Bartholomew will be the featured speaker of the evening with the topic, “Economic Development – 44 Years of Perspective.”
Dr. Bartholomew is a 1967 graduate of Lemmon High School, Lemmon, SD. He attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City for both undergraduate and medical school, graduating in 1976. In 1977, he did his post-graduate internship at San Bernadino County Hospital, San Bernadino, CA. The following year he specialized in emergency room medicine at San Bernadino County Hospital. In 1978, Dr. Bartholomew began his career at Faulk County Memorial Hospital/Clinic. He has served as the Medical Director and Primary Supervisor for our physician assistants since 1995. Since moving to Fort Pierre in 1992, he has continued to serve Faulk County on a weekly basis. He is on the staff of both St. Mary’s Hospital and Medical Associates Clinic in Pierre. Dr. Bartholomew is a family/general practitioner.
The meeting will also include a short summary by Paula Jensen of Dakota Resources about the Front Porch community project in Langford. Jensen is Vice President of Advancement at Dakota Resources and also serves as a Community Coach.
Agenda items for the evening will include highlights of the Business Survey, public sharing of thoughts and ideas, synopsis of development projects and funding and voting for new development board members. New board members will be announced next week in the Faulk County Record, on Facebook and on the FAEDC’s website faulktonsd.com.
The public is invited and encouraged to bring questions and ideas, participate in the meeting, voting and discussion and have a voice in the future of the Faulk County area.
