Faulkton’s Lyric Theatre Celebrating Its 75th Anniversary!
April 23, 2025
Lyric Theatre has been serving the Faulkton community since 1950 -- It has one of the largest screens in South Dakota with a digital projector and a great sound system.

This year the theatre is celebrating its 75th anniversary and will kick things off with Faulkton’s first ever Film Festival: A Walk Through the Decades with the Lyric Theatre!
On Friday May 2nd, the Lyric will be showing “Miss Grant Takes Richmond.” This is a presentation of the first movie ever shown at the Lyric back in 1950. There will be cupcakes graciously gifted by Pam Hutchinson as well as normal concessions. On Saturday there will be a double header of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1960s) and Toy Story (1990s). Capping it all off, “May the 4th be with you” as Sunday, they'll be showing Star Wars (1970s) and Empire Strikes Back (1980s). Have some fun with it and feel free to come dressed as your favorite character (prize for best costume)!
All shows will be free will donations and movie times will be 7:30pm on Friday, the doubleheaders on the weekend will be at 5pm and 7:30pm. The Lyric encourages everyone to like and share their Facebook page and hope to see everyone there to celebrate this milestone year as they find new ways to provide memories to this community!!!!
