And there’s no better time to tip our hats to their community contributions than with a huge shout-out on the heels of National Family Owned & Operated Business Day, which took place on June 23.

Faulkton Area Economic Development Corporation (FAEDC) appreciates the way our amazing network of entrepreneurs works hard to ensure life is a little sweeter for all of us. It’s also why we want to do all we can to support their operations.

Creating a Legacy 

Small businesses are known for creating a legacy that’s often built on a customer-friendly approach, one that earns more loyalty and trust than larger, autonomous businesses.

That’s especially true for Bauer’s SuperValu. For decades, the full-service grocery store has worked hard to ensure all of its services and products will make every customer leave the store with a smile! From a full deli where they cut and process fresh meats, including their own ground beef, to rows of fresh fruits and vegetables, a bakery for sweet treats, hot lunches to go, and even catering services, they go above and beyond to serve our community.

“I think it has value for people, but I could be a bit biased,” says owner Randy Bauer, whose father took over operation of the store in 1994 after he started working there in 1974. During that time, Bauer’s SuperValu has never hesitated to support the community in any way possible. And for Randy, the support the store has received from the local community has a deep impact on Faulkton as a whole. “Most of the money that comes into (Faulkton) stays here.”
